Follow the basic ground rules
- Ensure that all default passwords are changed immediately. Use multi-factor authentication as required. Consider using features like auto lock-out for better password protection
- Establish access management. Revoke, alter, change and update access rights for every user on time.
- Consider using network segmentation. By dividing the network into subnetworks, you can enhance security and improve performance at the same time.
- Use firewalls. Firewalls are useful and necessary as barriers between network resources and untrusted networks.
- Update all software and firmware. Developers release updates for software and firmware on a regular basis, and it is wise to install updates whenever available. Automate updates if you haven’t already.
